Dr Oz: Quick Hair Fixes

Want to know how to turn that dry, fly-a-way hair into a beautiful mane? On today’s show, Doctor Oz was joined by Celebrity Hairstylist, Louis Licari to reveal common hair disasters and how to fix them with things like Argan Oil for frizzy hair, a hair color marker for grey hair, hairspray for thinning hair and a hair glaze for highlights. Louis says hair disasters occur because of all the harmful products you’re using on your hair. Summertime is approaching, so many women like to have that sleek look. In order to straighten curly locks, women turn to flattening irons, which dry out and damage the hair. Another issue is using too many products that can lead to breakage.  Plus, if you are into natural beauty treatments, you should checkout Dr Oz’s Remedies that were also on today’s show!

Dr Oz: Argan Oil for Frizzy Hair & Hair Color Marker for Grey Hair

Dr Oz spoke about beauty products like Argan Oil for Frizzy Hair and a Hair Color Marker for Grey Hair.

Dr Oz: Argan Oil for Frizzy Hair

Sabrina, an audience member, told Dr Oz that she had flyaway hair. She tried everything, (blow drying and straightening) but nothing would tame her wild locks.

Louis says to fix frizzy hair, use argan oil when you blow dry your hair. Louis had tried Argan Oil on Sabrina and she said she loved it, stating her hair felt “healthy and bouncy.” Simply add a few drops of argan oil and blow dry. Louis stated that you could also use it on your skin to help prevent wrinkles.

Dr Oz Color Marker for Grey Hair

Nancy, an audience member, said she would love to get rid of her gray hair, but constant hair coloring was not healthy and quite frankly, was expensive. Louis says to use a color marker when covering up grey hair. Wherever you see grey hair, color it in with the hair color marker to paint out the gray hairs. This method reduces the number of times you have to get your hair colored, which keeps your mane healthier.

Dr Oz Hairspray for Thin Hair

Rebecca, an audience member, stated that the older she gets, the thinner her hair gets at the top. She said she had no volume at the roots. Louis suggested lifting the hair at the roots with your fingers. Then spritz on some spray and let it dry. You could also do the bend over method. Bend over, spritz hair at roots and then flip hair back.

Dr Oz: Hair Glaze Highlights

Cara, an audience member, had over-highlighted hair, which made her look older. Louis suggested getting a hot oil treatment and then using a glaze for proper highlights. Glaze contains no peroxide and won’t damage the hair.

Comments to Dr Oz: Argan Oil for Frizzy Hair & Hair Color Marker for Grey Hair

  1. Hi,

On your June 4, 2012 (today) program, you mentioned something about covering grey hairs in between hair coloring? Did you recommend a “spray” of some kind or a “marker”?

I only caught a part of the program and thought you mentioned what you can use in between hair coloring for greys?

Can you provide the name and website of the product you referred to today?

    Thank you,
    R.
