He revealed the secrets to curb your appetite and boost your calorie burn, and he gave us a Swimsuit Slimdown diet to get ready for the summer!
What Slows Down Your Metabolism?
Is a slow metabolism your curse? Forget about genetics! You can boost your metabolism all day long to lose weight. To keep from packing on the pounds, your body needs to burn calories efficiently. Overtime, your metabolism tends to slow down due to certain factors, which include;
-Decrease in calorie burn
-More body fat
Kadija, an audience member, told Dr Oz that she was nervous to be there in a swimsuit, but seeing all other women helped boost her confidence. Kadija felt she had a slow metabolism and wanted to rev it up to help her lose weight. Her family was full figured, too. After years, she lost some weight but then gained it back after the birth of her son.
Dr Oz: Matcha Tea
Matcha tea is a kind of green tea. The leaves are ground into a powder. Place the powder into a tea bag and place teabag in 1 C of boiling water until it dissolves. Drink 3 C of this tea per day. You can serve the tea cold, which takes energy, which in turn speeds up your burn rate. This tea is fresh, cleansing and has a taste great.
Dr Oz: Papaya & Hardboiled Egg
Eat ¼ C papaya with 1 hardboiled egg. Papaya helps break down proteins from the egg and will keep you satiated. Eat this in the mornings.
Dr Oz: Gochujang Hot Sauce
Gochujang is a Korean hot sauce that helps to curb the appetite during meals. It also boosts your calorie burn because it contains something called capsaicin. You can purchase Gochujang pre-made to use it on your grilled veggies and chicken. (Caveat; it is hot so don’t use too much—maybe 1 tsp.)
Dr Oz Exercise Band Workout
To boost your muscles and get metabolism up, try exercise bands. To use, hold the ends and step in the middle of the band. Lift up the band to a 90-degree angle. Hold for 10 seconds. Do 5 reps.
