Dr Oz: Sambal Oelek Paste
Top Chef, Ming Tsai, said if you’re looking for a way to kick start metabolism, try a spicy paste called Sambal Oelek. You can use the paste as a dipping sauce for your veggies and lean meats. Use it in stir-fry or combine with Dijon mustard for extra kick to your dishes. This paste will definitely bring out the flavors in your food.
Dr Oz: Wakame Salad
In order to keep the pounds from packing on, Chef Ming suggested a fat burning salad called Wakame salad. Wakame salad is made from brown seaweed and is packed with protein. It’s also low in fat.
Dr Oz: Healthy Popcorn Recipe
Skip the butter and the added salt. In order to stay skinny, Top Chef, Gail Simmons, suggested a simple and nutritious popcorn snack.
2 Tbsp canola oil
½ C popcorn kernels
2 Tbsp chopped walnuts
½ C dried banana chips
Pinch of salt
Pop the kernels in the canola oil over the stove. Add in the walnuts, dried banana and a pinch of salt. Enjoy!
Dr Oz: Spiral Vegetable Slicer
Chef Gail suggested the spiral vegetable slicer as a great gadget to help you lose weight. Use this salad slicer to chop eggplant and cucumbers for a salad or to sauté. To use, simply place the veggie into the slicer and press. Watch the long, thin slices come out in a spiral.
Dr Oz: Skinny Barbecue Sauce Recipe
For a barbecue sauce that’s not overly salty and sweet, Chef John Besh suggested his skinny barbecue sauce.
2 Tbsp of agave nectar
2 Tbsp rice wine vinegar
Use this combo for your chicken and meats for a delicious flavor.
Dr Oz: Skinny Salad Dressing Recipe
Did you know half the calories in your salad may be coming from your salad dressing? Chef John suggested using hazelnut oil and avocado oil. Combine the oils and dip your veggies in. Squeeze in a bit of lemon and lime for the perfect, healthy salad dressing.
