Dr Oz had his audience hold up an outfit they wanted to get back into. The clothing ranged from lingerie to a wedding gown. Nicole, one audience member, held up her size 2 wedding gown. She was a married woman who had gained 65 lbs in the last 4 months of her pregnancy. Nicole told Dr Oz that she had tried everything to lose weight. It would work, but then she would gain the weight back. (Heard that story before!) She said she wasn’t happy with her current body and looked for clothes to cover up. She was frustrated and depressed.

Tiffany, another audience member, held up her size 1 formal gown. She told Dr Oz that when she wore that dress, she felt beautiful. She received many compliments that day. It was even better than her wedding dress. Today, when she looked into the mirror, she saw a working mom and wife that didn’t have time to exercise. Dr Oz reassured Tiffany that her best years didn’t have to be behind her. She deserved to be happy. Dr Oz asked her to come to the stage with Shaun, who also reassured her that she was beautiful. He instructed her (and the audience) to look into the mirror and realize that you are beautiful right now.

When you eat and what you eat are the most important parts of losing weight. You gain weight when you don’t eat enough. With Shaun’s plan, you won’t have to starve yourself and you’ll get rid of those cravings to get your best body back.
3 Rules to get Your Body Back
1. Taper off carbs. Eat more carbs in the morning because they give you the most energy throughout the day.
- Breakfast: 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat
- Lunch: 25% carbs, 45% protein, 30% fat
- Dinner: 15% carbs 55% protein 30% fat
2. Sweet potatoes (2 servings per day). Shaun eats them every day because of their nutrients. You will feel good after eating them and they fill you up. Try baked sweet potato chips and fries!
3. Eat foods that expire within 1 week. Natural foods with a shelf life are better for you. Packaged foods can sit on shelves for months and are not as healthy for you. For example, packaged fruit contains juice, which is only sugar. Fresh fruits will help your body change and you will feel better.
