Dr Oz: Anti-Cancer Super Meal
Dr Oz dedicated his entire show today to Holistic Remedies, which included food. Holistic Guru, Dr. Weil, came to the show to prepare his anti-cancer super meal, pasta puttanesca with tuna. Dr. Weil’s dish came with the seal of approval from Doctor Oz, so it totally had to be tasty and healthy! Dr Oz likened this dish to a Mediterranean diet in a bowl. (and we all know how much Dr Oz loves his Mediterranean dishes)
Dr. Weil told Dr Oz that he ate this meal at least once a week. He also admitted that he loved to cook because it relaxed him and then promised Dr Oz that he would come to the show more often to cook.
Dr Andrew Weil’s Pasta Puttanesca with Tuna Recipe
Ingredients:
2 28 oz cans of Italian tomatoes
4 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp dried hot red pepper flakes
2 Tbsp capers
½ C black olives
3 mashed garlic cloves
2 Tbsp fresh basil leaves
1 lb tried pasta
pouch of tuna
¼ C parmesan cheese
Cook pasta for 4-5 minutes. (You want it al dente and chewy)
Dr. Weil had Dr Oz mix the ingredients (pasta and sauce) in a bowl. You don’t need any salt because the capers have a salty taste to them. Dr Oz and Dr. Weil tried the pasta and it was delish, but according to Dr. Weil, needed more basil. Dr Oz passed it around to the audience, who loved it!

The sauce for pasta puttenesca wasn’t cooked. Was that an oversight? After all, the good doctor said he loves to cook!
