Dr Oz Snack Attack
Did you know that you could eat a snack before dinner and actually lose weight? In fact, Dr Oz suggests that you do so. On today’s show, Doctor Oz had his entire audience hold up a little brown bag containing one of his secret snacks that you can enjoy 1-2 hours before dinner in order to lose weight. You’ll find out what that snack is later (and don’t forget to tell us about your favorite late afternoon snack in the comments section below).
Dr Oz dedicated the entire hour to snack attack. Studies show that snacking on the right foods at the right time turn your body into a fat burning machine. Who doesn’t want that?
Dr Oz: Pre-Dinner Snacks
Do this routine 1-2 hours before dinner to help you lose 8 lbs per year.
Tianna, an audience member, stated that she would love to lose 8 lbs and go down a dress size. She told Dr Oz that she would feel even more fabulous than she already was. (No lack of self-esteem here, folks!)
Dr Oz demonstrated on Tianna how important it was to do the pre-dinner snack routine to lose weight. Dr Oz had Tianna bite into a deviled egg (but not swallow yet.) Dr Oz showed an image of Tianna’s organs (not her real organs, of course, just an animation.) Tianna swallowed the egg and it went down the esophagus. The protein in the egg goes inside the intestine. The food nourishes the bacteria so that all other food eaten—healthy and not so healthy—is broken down by that good bacteria. In other words, you get rid of all the bad stuff with the good stuff. The trick to losing weight while eating is to eat the right things to get your intestines to “play on your team.”
Pre-Dinner Snack Rules:
- 6 g fiber
- 10 g protein (turns on hormones and keeps you full)
- Limit snacks to 200 calories
