Dr Oz: How to Quit an Artificial Sweetener Addiction
Artificial sweeteners claim to help you lose weight, but in actuality, they may end up doing the opposite. Because of their higher sweetness content, they may cause you to crave even more goodies. Dr Oz says that the average American consumes 24 pounds of artificial sweeteners every year. (I feel like I consume 9 of those 24 pounds by myself.) Sweeteners, such as saccharine and aspartame may even cause your appetite to increase. The good news; in just 7 days, Dr Oz can help you break the cycle once and for all!
Missy, an audience member, stated that she was a self-proclaimed artificial sweetener addict.
After the facts Dr Oz gave her regarding artificial sweeteners, Missy may re-think her consumption.
Aspartame: 200 times sweeter than sugar
Saccharine- 500 times sweeter
Sucralose-600 times sweeter
Dr Oz: Stevia Sweetener
Day1: coffee- use stevia in your coffee instead. It’s hails from South America and is only 30 times sweeter. It is also helpful to reduce diabetes and blood pressure. Michelle tasted stevia in a steaming cup of joe and stated it was delish.
Dr Oz: Maple Syrup Yogurt
Day2: Use maple syrup instead of artificial sweeteners in yogurt. Purchase unsweetened yogurt and pour in a little maple syrup to sweeten. Maple syrup is delicious and is all-natural.
Dr Oz: Agave Nectar Gummies
Day 3: Agave nectar gummies. Doctor Oz made his own agave nectar gummies and had Missy try one. She stated they were good and something she could see herself snacking on throughout the day. Dr Oz says that agave nectar gummies do not burn out the taste buds, so you are not still searching to satisfy that sweet tooth.
Dr Oz: Arctic Zero Bars Review
Day 4: Artic Zero bars for dessert. These bars are low in calories, plus they contain no artificial sweeteners. Other low fat ice creams contain sweeteners like sorbitol, saccharine and aspartame (as well as a few other ones I can’t pronounce.)
Day 5,6,7- Get rid of diet sodas. Instead, Drink Dr Oz’s all natural root beer or Dr Oz’s Orange-You-Glad-You’re-Not-Drinking-Diet-Soda
Dr Oz: Root Beer Recipe
Ingredients:
1 tsp agave nectar

Dr Oz: Orange Soda Recipe
Orange- You-Glad-You’re-Not-Drinking-Diet-Soda:

Fizzy water (seltzer water)

Dr Oz: Date Sugar
Dr Oz’s Bonus Tip: Use date sugar as an alternative to artificial sweeteners.
