Dr Oz: Women Over 40 Supplements

In this segment, Dr Oz used audience participation by tossing a beach ball into the crowd with the names of supplements printed on it.  The audience member that caught it had to bring the ball back to the stage.  The supplements great for women over 40 included: Horse Chestnut Seed Extract, Astragalus, and Borage Oil

Dr Oz: Horse Chestnut Seed Extract for Varicose Veins

Horse Chestnut Seed Extract: This supplement works for varicose veins. It contracts the walls of the veins and reduces the amount of leakage so the vein is not so visible.  For maximum benefits, use 10 drops of the supplement in a glass of water.  Dr Oz brought up an audience member to taste it and she gave it the thumbs up, stating, “Not bad.”

Dr Oz: Astragalus for Stress

Astragalus: This natural supplement is used as a pick me up for stress and fatigue. Dr Oz Borage Oil Astragalus also relaxes the blood vessels and helps blood flow to the brain.  Take 200 mg 2x/day.

Dr Oz: Borage Oil for Hair

Borage Oil: This supplement contains a fatty acid that coats the hair and nails and keeps them shiny.  For this supplement, Yolanda, an audience member, came up on stage.  Dr Oz asked about her hair and she responded that she was wearing a wig, which was a good laugh.  However, under the wig, she said that her gray hair was dry.  Borage Oil doesn’t work overnight, so expect it to take some time.

I am really getting confused on what supplements to take I am 44 can you clarify this for me.

  2. Is chestnut oil good for your body elasticity, if you rub it on the skin? What other oils could be used for this purpose? Your help and feedback is greatly appreciated. Maggie
