Doctor Oz re-aired the segment of the first time Nicole, Adele and Matty came on his show. They are three generations of Italian women who desperately wanted to lose weight and get healthy. Here is a link to the recap of the show when they came back on Dr Oz’s Show: 3 Generations of Italians Diet: Nicole, Adele, & Matty Reunion.
Dr Oz’s plan really helped Nicole, Adele and Matty. In addition to getting personal training sessions and a gym membership, Kate Egan gave them some great tips for how to get healthy but still have tasty food. Dr Oz said that Kate Egan was trained in Italy, and so she could teach us how to make Italian food without packing on the pounds!
Family Style Diet Plan
Kate Egan said that by pounding chicken breast before using it, you look like you are having a bigger serving when it is really the same size portion. To pound chicken breast thin, just put the chicken with a little olive oil in a ziploc bag and pound. The only other change she made to Adele’s chicken parmigiana was to cut down the 8 TB of butter to 2 TB of butter.
Kate Egan also spoke about how to take the full fat version of lasagna, which has 1660 calories per slice, and she made a new version that had 500 calories without meat. If you are looking for some healthy, low fat, delicious Italian recipes, here are links to some of my faves from Dr Oz:
