Dr Oz: Paula Dean’s Diet Recipe
Dr Oz issued a challenge to Paula to cook some of her favorite recipes with half the fat and half the calories. Read below to find out two of Paula’s favorite dishes made healthier and if they stood up to the taste challenge.
Dr Oz: Paula Deen Oven Fried Chicken Recipe
Let chicken marinate 2-8 hours in the refrigerator. Place chicken on baking sheet and cook for 30-50 minutes, depending on size of chicken.

Dr Oz: Paula Deen Mac ‘n Cheese Recipe
- 2 cups whole wheat or regular elbow macaroni (8 oz)
- 2 cups shredded reduced-fat cheddar cheese (8 oz)
- 1/2 cup low-fat evaporated milk
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/4 cup reduced fat sour cream
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
Put into baking dish. Top with parmesan cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes.

Taste Test: The Mac ‘n Cheese came out dry and hard. (Gotta love live television!) Try it at home to hopefully get better results.
Paula Dean FYI: It also helps to eat as a family even if it is something as small as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Also, have the kiddies help in the kitchen. They may be more inclined to eat the broccoli if they helped in the preparation.
