OK, NO ONE calls them “vaginal panic attacks”. It makes the disorder sound silly and doesn’t nearly describe the actual process of what occurs. I would highly recommend getting and reading Dr. Elizabeth G. Stewart’s book “The V Book”. Unlike Dr. Oz, she is actually a vulvar expert and has devoted more than two entire chapters sexual pain disorders. Read it before you call vaginismus/vulvodynia/vestibulodynia a “panic attack in the vagina!” It’s just not that simple.
I work with women with vaginismus. I have found that a combination of education/coaching with me and work with a physical therapist (find one that specializes in pelvic floor issues) works well. The PT will often use biofeedback, but she does much more than that. Her patience and sensitivity helps to desensitize the client and help them accept touch without clamping up.
I agree with AM that describing it as a “panic attack” simplifies the issue. Most of the women I have worked with needed to work through a lot of misconceptions and misunderstandings about sex (fearing it would be painful, fearing their parents’ disapproval of them not being a virgin anymore, fearing their religious teaching that told them they would be “used goods,” etc).
The good news is that Vaginismus is 100% treatable.
Primary Vaginismus.
If you have it, then your body is NOT designed for sex.
It is God’s way of telling a woman that she is DESTINED to become a nun or celibate.
So if you have it, go on and BECOME A NUN.
Or be CELIBATE.

Vaginismus may cause more stigma, anxiety and depression for these women ONLY IF they allow their tight vagina to affect their lives. Vaginismus is not a killer disease. It does not impair or weaken other human activities such as walking, running, eating, sleeping, talking, hearing, etc.
There are two types:
1. Primary vaginismus – oops, she has a nun’s vagina. Violating a nun’s vagina is IMMORAL.
2. Secondary vaginismus – happens usually after giving birth or menopause. It means God doesn’t want you to make MORE kids. A natural birth control.
It is a proof that sex is not for everyone.

I have suffered from viginismus for a year now and when I was about to gave up, I found out that I am pregnant. I am three months pregnant (are you saying this is against God’s will?) I think this is a miracle and a blessing from God, so don’t tell me it’s a curse. You don’t have the right to decide for these women and make fun of them. I think you should actually stay from these sites that try to help women cope up with it and educate themselves about ways to heal and deal with it.

One probable cause of Primary Vaginismus (other than sexual abuse)is a woman’s ignorance of her own sexuality.
There are some girls who didn’t know they had a clitoris until they become teenagers. There are those who masturbate later in life (age 15-26), but orgasm much LATER. Hence they are DUMB about their own bodies. But other girls are DUMBER than that. It is therefore reasonable to say that if a woman is DUMB about her own sex organ, then God can intervene and manipulate her vagina for the purpose of birth control.
There are other forms of God’s Natural Birth Control They are:
1.) Having a thick hymen
2.) Dry Vagina
3.) Infertility

Therefore, a woman should feel NO GUILT when masturbating (both clitoral and vaginal), either in private or in front of her partner. Masturbation is important for women because it teaches them how to use their vagina. It gives them ownership of their vagina and develop a craving for sex.
