By on April 26, 2010

Doctor Oz played a game called “Things You Should Never Share” on the Dr Oz television show.  How good is your hygiene? Do you know what items in your medicine cabinet, your closet and your technology devices you should never share?  See how well you do at Dr Oz’s test:  Hygiene - Things You Should Never Share

Things You Should Never Share

Things You Should Never Share in Your Medicine Cabinet:

What is worst thing to share in your medicine cabinet: nail file, rinse cup, razor, hairbrush, mascara or toothbrush?

Dr Oz said that a razor is the worst thing to share in your medicine cabinet.  By sharing a razor, you can spread Staphylococcus, bacteria, and viruses by scraping bits of your skin.  You can also transfer antibiotic resistant germs in your body.  So be mindful of your hygiene and do not share razors!

Things You Should Never Share: Clothing & Accessories

Which of the following from this list of clothing and accessories should never be shared between people?  Hat, shoes, sunglasses, swimsuit, gloves mittens, shoes, or jewelry / earrings?

Dr Oz said that earrings should never be shared, because the stick of the earring that you poke through your ear can also transfer viruses.  Dr Oz said that you can even catch Hepatitis C, which causes cancer of the liver, by sharing earrings!  So for good hygiene, wear your own earrings only.

Things You Should Never Share: Tech Gadgets

Which of these tech gadgets should you never share: headphones, keyboard, remote control, or game controller?

Dr Oz said that you should never share a keyboard, because keyboards have as many germs as your toilet.  The CDC (Center for Disease Control) said that you can pass a very bad stomach virus through sharing keyboards. Dr Oz also says that everyone should disinfect their keyboard regularly with a Keyboard Cleaner!

How long can you keep mascara before throwing it out?

Doctor Oz said that after 3 months, you should throw out your mascara.  And whatever you do, do not share your mascara because you can spread pink eye!  So it is a hygiene no-no to ever share mascara!
