Dr Oz: Reflexology Foot Map
Dr. Oz introduced everyone to a very special guest! After he works hard all day long keeping his patients healthy and sharing advice to keep his fans healthy, his wife Lisa is the woman he counts on to keep him healthy. Lisa Oz says her number one priority is to keep Dr. Oz’s immune system strong and help him de-stress. Lisa’s favorite way to reduce her husband’s stress is with reflexology. Reflexology is a practice where a person’s foot represents a microcosm of their entire body so by pressing on certain areas of the foot you can stimulate those areas of the body they represent.
- Toes = Brain, sinus, eyes and ears
- Balls of the feet = Lungs, heart and liver
- Arch of the foot = Small intestine and bladder
- Heel of foot = Pelvis
Lisa explained areas that actually need work due to being worn down or stressed will be more sensitive to the pressure whereas areas of the body that are functioning well will not be sensitive at all. You can actually get really cool reflexology foot socks that map out the areas of the body represented by each area of the foot or you can just memorize it from above.
Dr Oz: Constipation Remedy
As we all know, Dr. Oz likes to talk about poop a lot on his show. He admits it is because he has a bit of a problem down in that area, especially when he travels. His wife Lisa shared her favorite remedy for constipation and she says her family never travels without it!
- Magnesium Citrate Powder – Helps to relax the muscles of the intestine.
- Relieves constipation
- 500 MG Capsule, 1 per day
- 1 teaspoon powder per day – Lisa Oz says this does not taste good so you can mask the taste by adding the powder to a glass of orange juice.
Dr Oz: Comfrey Tincture Gets Rid Of Pain
Lisa Oz’s next remedy is one that treats your pain. Dr. Oz recently suffered a bit of a fall while kite gliding and Lisa says he had a great deal of bruising to his ribs. In these situations she often turns to comfrey tincture as an effective remedy to treat the pain.
- Make a comfrey compress by soaking a cheesecloth with the tincture. Place it on the area, even while you sleep, to help relieve the pain and heal your bruises.
Dr Oz: Bach Remedy For Anxiety
Dr. Oz says that while he tries not to show it, he often feels a great deal of stress and anxiety. Whether it is during a difficult heart surgery where he nearly loses a patient or during a tough interview with a guest on his show, he often feels a great deal of stress. Lisa Oz’s remedy to treat her husband’s overwhelming stress is with a bach remedy called essence of hornbeam. She says placing a few drops under your tongue will calm your nerves and help you relax.
Dr Oz: Lisa Oz’s Sea Salt Face Scrub
Dr. Oz admits he never wore makeup before he started his television show and he says it is the toughest part of the job because it truly messes up his skin. Lisa created a salt scrub to help heal Dr. Oz’s irritated skin.
- ½ cup finely ground sea salt
- ½ cup coconut oil
- 2 drops lavender oil
Combine all of the ingredients and spread on your face to remove makeup and exfoliate. Lisa recommends using the scrub while in the shower so you have less of a mess to worry about.
