Doctor Oz was asked by a Polish woman in his audience, why she has cellulite on her dupa (Polish for butt or rear end) even though she does not know how to drive and has always walked a lot.

Dr. Oz said that you cannot get rid of cellulite through exercise.  There is not much you can do for cellulite, but the more fat that you have, the more visible your cellulite will be.  The good news?  Dr. Oz said that guys really do not care much about cellulite.  You can try this cellulite home remedy though!

Doctor Oz was asked by Mario, a man in his audience, where he falls on the healthcare debate going on in America under Obama’s administration.

Dr. Oz said that we are wasting time fighting over healthcare in Washington when we should fight over the care of our health, which starts in our homes and in our kitchens.  Dr. Oz said that if we cut down on obesity, we would save 10% of our health care cost in America.  86% of Americans will be overweight or obese by the next generation if we do not make changes now!  So lets commit to having a healthy lifestyle now!  What is your opinion on the health care debate?  Leave a comment below!

Dr. Oz: Ovarian Cancer Symptoms

By admin on March 31, 2010

Doctor Oz did a whole segment 3 Causes of Toxic Bloating, and one cause is Ovarian Cancer.  A woman in Dr. Oz’s audience was a survivor of Ovarian Cancer and asked Dr. Oz, other than bloating, what are the symptoms for Ovarian Cancer?

Dr. Oz’s Ovarian Cancer Symptoms:

1.  Bloating

2.  Pain in Your Abdomen or Pelvic Area

3.  Different Styles of Eating (feeling full early or food not agreeing with you)

Doctor Oz was asked by Mary-Anne, a woman in his audience, why she sneezes a few times in a row whenever her stomach is full or when she has a large meal.

Dr. Oz said that some people (very few) have a stomach sneeze reflex.  Your stomach has auto pilot nerves that tell your brain when it is close to full, and these nerves are very close to your sneeze nerves.  In only 2 families have scientists seen where these nerves cross on so people sneeze when they are full.  Very interesting!

Doctor Oz was asked by a woman in his audience if Arthritis is hereditary only and if lifestyle changes can help cure arthritis.

Dr. Oz said that it helps Arthritis to build-up muscles around your Arthritic joints.  Also, taking Glucosamine Chondroitin helps Arthritis and your joints like your knees.  Dr. Oz said that trauma can also cause Arthritis, but the myth that cracking your knuckles causes Arthritis is not true… cracking your knuckles does not traumatize your knuckles and thus does not cause Arthritis.

Doctor Oz was asked by a woman in his audience why it takes her so long to pee… when she pee’s it is literally like a “drip, drip, drip.”  Are there any foods or exercises than can help the flow of her urine be more smooth?

Dr. Oz said that some medications (over-the-counter medicines like antihistamines or prescription medicines like anti-depressants) can cause you to pee very slowly.  Dr. Oz said to pee faster, you can try pushing on your bladder with your hand while you go to the bathroom.  Usually when your bladder is very full and large, it may take a while to pee, but once it gets down to a smaller size, your pee will speed up.  Also, Dr. Oz recommends drinking a lot of fluid to help you to pee quicker.

Doctor Oz was asked by Diane, a woman from his audience, if green tea really gets rid of your belly fat and helps you to lose weight.

Dr. Oz said that he loves green tea because it reduces inflammations in your body.  He also said that caffeine is one of the smartest and least expensive ways to lose weight, and while green tea has a bit less caffeine than other drinks, it has many other fabulous benefits that makes him highly recommend drinking green tea.  Just don’t add cream or sugar!

Doctor Oz was told by Donna, a woman in his audience, that she goes to the gym five days a week and she has been doing it for three years but does not see any difference in her stomach.

Dr. Oz said that we need to learn how to tighten up our belly muscles.  Doing sit-ups will not suffice!  Try this:

Dr. Oz’s Belly Fat Buster Exercise:

1. Find a set of stairs and sit on a step.

2.  Lean backwards.

3.  Relax your stomach.

4.  Suck your stomach in towards your spine and push it back out.

5.  Repeat steps 3 and 4.

Once you learn which muscle to flex and relax, you are ready to go!  I find myself doing this exercise while waiting in line at the store or even in the car when I’m waiting at a red light.

Doctor Oz said that as we grow older, many people will develop skin barnacles or Seborrheic Keratosis, which look like little black or brown spots that can form on our face, necks, and chests.  They almost look like small moles that show up out of nowhere.  Dr. Jeanine Downie, author of Beautiful Skin of Color: A Comprehensive Guide to Asian, Olive, And Dark Skin, said that skin barnacles or Seborrheic Keratosis is totally benign, and can easily be removed.  Two volunteers from Dr. Oz’s audience put on some numbing cream to numb the area before trying the following two methods for removing their skin barnacles.

How To Remove Skin Barnacles or Seborrheic Keratosis

1.  Hyfrecator

The Hyfrecator was used on a smaller skin barnacle.  Dr. Jeanine Downie used the device on the skin barnacle and some smoke came off of the skin as the skin barnacle was removed.  Then she rubbed the area with a cloth.  The volunteer said it was painless.

2.  Scalpel

A scalpel was used on a larger skin barnacle.  Dr. Jeanine Downie, after numbing the area well, scraped the skin barnacle off.  It was amazing how easily it came off!  There was a tiny bit of blood, but the volunteer said she could not feel a thing.

Dr. Oz did warn us that if you get a sudden explosion of skin barnacles, then you should have yourself checked for gastric cancer, because skin barnacles could be a sign for gastric cancer.

Doctor Oz was asked by a woman in his audience how to lower bad cholesterol or lousy cholesterol (as Dr. Oz calls it).  LDL cholesterol can cause many medical and health problems.

Dr. Oz said that high levels of LDL or bad cholesterol comes from two things: genes and belly fat.  Genetics accounts for about 5% of high cholesterol cases but belly fat accounts for close to 95% of high cholesterol cases.  Dr. Oz suggests that you try to adapt your diet to contain mainly whole foods, which won’t poison your liver.
